![]() As such, going for Regular versus Unleaded is ok in my mind. I do my best to limit myself to 1 can on Friday and Saturday morning. Look, overall, I try to not drink a lot of soda. And, as it is wont to do, it sticks around for a bit after I finish the sip of soda. That lime flavor is still there, sort of, but at least for me, the aspartame damn-near drowns it out. It almost overrides the regular flavor of the soda. Just that artificial-overly-sweet flavor. Though there’s maybe a bit of aspartame scent instead of high-fructose corn syrup scent. It smells certainly just like Baja Blast. However, looking back at the photo from that review, this is pretty spot-on. Now, originally, I thought this looked a little more pale than the original Baja Blast. Will this basically ruin one of my favorite sodas? Let’s find out. But, I also remember the very first Mountain Dew Zero review and just how much aspartame aftertaste there was with it. It’s lime flavored, and limes are one of my favorite citrus (I prefer limeade to lemonade, for example). Now, Baja Blast is one of my favorite flavors of Dew, just below Code Red at the top. ![]() Also, I did my grocery shopping early in the morning and the Taco Bell wasn’t open yet, so I couldn’t just stop in for a cupful and I didn’t want to make an extra trip out just to get it. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any of the regular version on the shelf, as I’d’ve preferred to do a side-by-side flavor comparison for this review. Baja Blast is usually exclusive to Taco Bell, but occasionally, PepsiCo will give us bottles and cans (clap your hands. It’s Baja Blast, also affectionately known by me and some of my friends as Pool Water for its resemblance to such. Though, unlike the last couple, this is a flavor I know well. Well, a week ago, I was doing my now-once-a-month grocery shopping and happened to see a couple 12-packs of a new Mountain Dew Zero variety. I’ll just be at the grocery store, looking for other stuff, but I always make a trek down the soda isle, just in case. It’s always interesting when I come across these. Both flavors would be staying until September 9th, 2023, when the Summer of Baja Blast promotion ends. And I’m back with another Mountain Dew review. It was officially released in stores in the United States on June 19th, 2023 for a limited time alongside Baja Caribbean Splash, and was sold in 12-packs and and 20 ounce bottles. In January 2023, a photograph was leaked showing pre-release bottles of both flavors, with Baja Passionfruit having been renamed as Baja Passionfruit Punch. ![]() Based on the information, the name/flavor is Baja Passionfruit, although its actual name was pending. On December 28th, 2022, in a r/MountainDew Reddit post, a user named u/Fleezus7 showed high-quality photographs of Cobra Cane, Baja Passionfruit Punch, Baja Caribbean Splash, Summer Freeze with its Zero Sugar variant, a canceled DEWcision 2023 promotion and a prototype Snap'd. On December 19th, 2022, PepsiCo filed a trademark for this flavor, revealing its name to be Baja Passionfruit Punch. As previously mentioned, the names for both flavors are placeholder names due to the leaked renders of the flavor being too low resolution for the flavor name to be discernable. On October 11th, 2022, on the Dew Drinker Discord, it was first leaked of two new pink and purple flavors: Baja Caribbean Splash and Baja Passionfruit would re-release alongside Baja Blast, and Baja Blast Zero Sugar in part for an unnamed Summer promotion. Its tagline is " DEW with a Blast of Natural & Artificial Passionfruit Flavor." History Baja Passionfruit Punch, as its name implies, is a Passionfruit flavor of Mountain Dew and has a purple look.
